really cool tidal pools

Our first roadtrip this summer was a week-long trip round western Oregon. It started off with quick trip down the I5 corridor to Grant's Pass. After that we crossed over the mountains, hitting the Oregon Caves and the giant redwood forest on the way to the coast. The rest of the trip was coming up the southern Oregon coast before crossing back after Lincoln City.

Day five of our Oregon Coast Vacation - after we left the Sea Lion Caves and on our way to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, we spotted a low tide at a wayside and found some really cool tidal pools. This was an unplanned stop - and one of the neatest of the trip!

There's no real path; just work your way down...

Some great tidal pools, and well exposed!

Look! There are little fish in there...

Lots of anemones...

Some pretty big pools.

Not sure what these 'spiky' ones are...

Tons of mussels...

A view from one end of the flow.

These purple ones were cool!

As the tide was coming in, we had to leave.
