The Stout Memorial Grove is an extremely impressive stand of old-growth redwoods in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. The tour books recommend you get there about 3:00PM, to catch the light coming in through the trees at a slant, but before the mountains block it entirely. We were not disappointed...

Entering the home of the giant redwoods...

Here's a pretty big one!

Just a little 2-mile hike through another era...

Look! Giant clovers!!

Sean felt the need to run. (Look close - he's the tiny blue dot on the path...)

They're not just big around...

Mommy helped me climb a little

This 'tiny' one got hit by lightning.

This wall - it's just ONE tree.

Root balls more than 20 feet tall...

Look what I found...

A sea of giant clovers!

Here's a pretty big one.

Just to put it in perspective!
